Despite claims that Tottenham would be happy to keep Giovani Lo Celso in their squad for the season, it remains to be seen if that will be the case.
The 27-year-old has played a grand total of 16 minutes so far this season, which isn’t what he will be wanting at this point in his career, and therefore the idea of a move away could be tempting, especially if a team like Napoli come knocking.
In fact, the Serie A side, who have been after the Tottenham player since the early stages of the summer, have been urged to spend the money to convince Spurs by Filippo Colosanto, an intermediary agent and Argentine football expert, who was speaking to Radio CRC, relayed by Sport Napoli.
He said: “Tottenham are a demanding club and will stand by their demands. (…) Napoli are now a real force, in terms of the value of the players they can afford to put on the bench, like Giovanni Simeone, who I think is an exceptional striker.
“Furthermore, Lo Celso is Argentinean and that alone would be reason enough for him to willingly come to Napoli. Lo Celso is an attacking midfielder, but he is also capable of playing as a trequartista and second striker, so if I were Napoli, I would buy him immediately.”
As Tottenham need to offload a few players between now and the end of the transfer window, the right offer could trigger a sale, but only time will tell if Napoli have the desire to get it done.
