Sheffield United have seemingly made their first move to sign AC Milan’s Divock Origi, according to Calciomercato.
The striker left Liverpool as a free agent to join the Serie A side last summer, but his debut season in Italy was a disappointment as he scored two goals and registered one assist from 36 games.
It’s said the 28-year-old ‘wants to return’ to the Premier League where Sheffield United could be an option for him.
The frontman is not included in Stefan Pioli’s plans. The Rossoneri, who are keen to get rid of him, are hoping to close the negotiations, likely with Sheffield United, who are now without Iliman Ndiaye after selling him to Marseille.
Last weekend, TuttoMercatoWeb reported West Ham United are also on the trail of Origi but haven’t tabled an offer just yet, meaning the Hammers could now face a potential battle with Sheffield United to sign the player.
