On August 17th, TyC Sports journalist César Luis Merlo reported Manchester and UD Las Palmas are in advanced negotiations for Máximo Perrone’s transfer.
The Spanish club are now edging closer towards completing a deal for the 20-year-old.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who state the Manchester City midfielder should become the new Las Palmas player in the ‘next few hours’.
It’s claimed the La Liga side have ‘reached a full agreement’ with the treble winners to sign the defensive midfielder on a season-long loan deal.
It’s likely to be a dry loan deal because the website makes no mention of any option or obligation to buy. Perrone’s contract at the Etihad lasts until 2028.
Pep Guardiola’s side signed the Argentina U20 international from Vélez Sarsfield earlier this year. He managed two appearances for the Citizens in the second half of last season.
It’s difficult for Perrone to have more minutes at Manchester City this season and this is why he has now opted to join Las Palmas on loan.
The deal’s expected to go through soon as Mundo state the South American is expected to start training under García Pimienta’s orders ‘this week’.
