For the past few weeks, multiple claims from both England and Italy have stated Everton are interested in signing Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto.
Last week, Corriere dello Sport reported the forward is waiting for the Toffees to make a new offer after Daniel Farke’s side rejected their initial proposal.
Leeds are refusing to allow the 19-year-old to move to the Premier League, according to his agent Claudio Vigorelli. He made this claim to Radio Sportiva and his comments are relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb.
When asked about the possibility of Gnonto making a switch to Italy, he said: “The situation is complicated. Leeds are blocking the requests we have in the Premier League. The hypothesis of a transfer would be high if Leeds open to the sale.”
AS Roma and Atalanta have been pushed forward as the two contenders from Italy. On Monday, Tutto Atalanta reported the Leeds player is not the priority target for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
It was also stated Gnonto is determined not to spend a season in the Championship.
Earlier this month, Leeds confirmed they have informed the player and his representatives that he “would not be sold” this summer. This makes it difficult for interested clubs when negotiating a deal with the Whites to sign Gnonto.
