For the past few weeks, multiple reports from Italy have stated Manchester United are interested in Sofyan Amrabat and that the Fiorentina player wants a move to Old Trafford.
Three days ago, La Nazione journalist Riccardo Galli reported the Red Devils could wait until the end of the window to obtain a discount from the Serie A side to sign the 26-year-old.
This is further backed up by Quotidiano.net, who say Manchester United are ‘wating for a discount’ at the end of this month. However, they have warned Erik ten Hag’s side that the discount ‘will not arrive’.
“If we find a solution that satisfies everyone, we’d be delighted to let him go. Otherwise, we’d be just as happy to keep him with us. He’s a strong player and a serious professional who cares about our shirt,” he said, as relayed by Quotidiano.net.
The report doesn’t mention the fee needed to satisfy the Italian club to sanction the player’s sale, but everyone now knows it’s around €25-30m. However, they do state ‘hopes of the transfer are not completely lost’ as there seems to be a belief that Manchester United or another club could table a convincing offer.
That’s because Pradè explains: “… the last days of August are the hottest for summer negotiations.”
Should Amrabat be sold, Quotidiano.net state the Italian club will have to look for a new midfielder this summer.
