Manchester United may not make a move for Sofyan Amrabat before the end of the transfer window, if the latest reports from Italy are to be believed.
It’s a mix of frustration and desperate hope on Friday, if we’re to be completely honest with you, as La Nazione, relayed by Labaro Viola, kick things off by recalling the Morocco international has ‘been waiting’ for the Red Devils ‘to make an offer for two months now’.
However, the feeling is that they ‘cannot invest €30m’ for his services right now, which is echoed by La Repubblica, brought to us by Viola News.
They point out that Manchester United are ‘more secluded’ than the recent Liverpool resurgence, because they have been after the midfielder ‘since the beginning of the summer’, but have ‘never approached the club’s demands’.
This has led to a stalemate where the Fiorentina star has ‘perhaps understood that he was not the priority for Ten Hag’.
The Serie A side are ‘waiting’, but are also aware that if the right offer doesn’t arrive, having Amrabat around to help the injury prone Arthur Melo ‘wouldn’t be bad’.
Moving onto the newspapers, Gazzetta dello Sport explain that while the midfielder ‘has an agreement’ with Manchester United, the club are ‘taking time’ in putting an offer, partly to ‘try and lower the request’, but also because they are trying to offload their deadwood.
Fiorentina are no longer in ‘such a hurry’ to sell their player, which corroborates the report above stating they aren’t against him staying.
As for Corriere dello Sport, they offer the most hope, if you want to call it that, stating that Amrabat is ‘waiting for Manchester United to try in the final days of the transfer market’, and ‘everyone expects’ a bid.
The Red Devils’ aim there is to try and lower the price, but, once again, Fiorentina aren’t ready to do that.
