Sevilla director of football Victor Orta has insisted he is not concerned about Aston Villa’s surprise move for Marcos Acuna and remains calm over any potential departures from the club.
The Spaniard has been speaking to various Spanish media ahead of the clash with Manchester City this evening in the UEFA Super Cup.
It’s a busy period for the director of football, who continues to keep reshaping their squad this summer after arriving as the replacement for Monchi earlier this year.
It’s been a window of change for Sevilla so far, who have been determined to refresh the squad and ensure they can be more competitive, at least in La Liga, than they proved to be last season.
The latest potential big-name departure from the squad is Marcos Acuna, who is being targeted by former Sevilla duo Unai Emery and Monchi at Aston Villa.
That’s something for Orta to work on with his counterparts at Villa Park, and he insists that he’s not worried at this point in time.
“I’m not worried,” Mundo Deportivo report him saying.
“I think the market is open and Sevilla, throughout its history, has sold players with market offers and players with offers on and off the market. It is part of the idiosyncrasy of this game until 1 September.
