There’s some good and bad news in Norwich City’s chase for Vincent Aboubakar.
The Canaries were seriously linked to the player last week, although Besiktas, the side who have him on loan until the end of the season, currently have advantage for the signing due to a buying option.
The newspaper doesn’t mention the name of the Chinese club and how much would they like to pay, but it’s still considered serious.
Over in Turkey, Aboubakar’s behavioural issues aren’t being taken well in the country.
The player was sent off in two consecutive games: one in the Europa League and one in the Turkish League. That’s obviously something that drops his chances of him staying at Besiktas at the end of the season.
O Jogo have recently reported that Norwich City would be ready to offer €12m for the player. That’s a good scenario for Porto, since they don’t want him to stay at Besiktas because the buying option is only €10m.
Considering that Besiktas were already having second thoughts about paying that much money, these red cards could now convince to drop the idea.
If the Chinese offers are fantasy, or if Aboubakar would prefer Norwich, then the Championship club could have a clear run.
