Over the past few hours, there has been a lot of talk about Aston Villa making a move for Nicolo Zaniolo, as the Italian remains a target for Monchi and Unai Emery.
An initial loan deal worth €3m up front and in excess of €30m overall was made, but with Galatasaray wanting the release clause triggered, it was unlikely to succeed.
What also doesn’t help Aston Villa is the fact Zenit St Petersburg are on the case after selling Malcom, and are ready to offer him more money, according to Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.
Well, Sport Italia have that number, and it’s quite a considerable wage, as they claim Zenit are ready to pay Zaniolo €9m/year to go to Russia.
Whether that’s a move that interests him remains to be seen, but if it comes to money, it seems Aston Villa are a bit behind, at least when it comes to personal terms.
