With the idea that Harry Maguire could be sold in the coming week or so, Manchester United have been looking at buying a new centre-back.

One of the names that keeps coming back as a target is Jean-Clair Todibo, and after a brief report from Sacha Tavolieri on Monday, RMC Sport have a far longer one on Tuesday.

They report that Manchester United have reached out to OGC Nice to gather information about a potential transfer of the 23-year-old this summer.

It’s said that the Red Devils ‘asked for the conditions’ that would allow them to sign the Frenchman, which has happened alongside the Premier League side ‘getting closer to the entourage’ of the player.

Those last talks, the one with the representatives, have been judged ‘constructive’, but everything rests on the sale of Harry Maguire.

Over at Nice, it’s said that Florent Ghisolfi has ‘opened the door’ to a transfer, after recently stating the player certainly wasn’t one they deemed non-transferable.

How much Todibo would cost Manchester United at this point isn’t said, but it might not be surprising to see him cost somewhere along the same lines as what Axel Disasi cost Chelsea, considering the pair were both on Erik ten Hag’s list of targets should an opening for a centre-back in his squad become a tthing.
