It’s been a while since we’ve seen Aston Villa associated with Nicolò Zaniolo, but TuttoMercatoWeb bring the interest from Unai Emery’s side back on Thursday.
They point out that the next few hours ‘will be hot’ when it comes to the Italy international’s future at Galatasaray, after his agent travelled to Turkey and the player sat out the Champions League qualifier against Zalgiris.
The Turkish side’s manager has already tried to downplay the decision and assured it was not transfer related, but that hasn’t stopped Aston Villa to be thrown back into the mix.
They recall that Juventus have never forgotten about him, although the Serie A side would need to sort out their squad a bit before being able to get him.
However, Zaniolo is also ‘followed by many’, and ‘most prominently’ among all are Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen, while Barcelona are also chucked in there as being ‘in the background’.
He has also received an ‘important proposal’ from Saudi Arabia, although whether that’s a step he’s willing to take at this stage in his career remains to be seen.
