Leeds United defender Robin Koch has revealed the training facilities at Eintracht Frankfurt are “a notch above” those at Elland Road.

The defender has been speaking to SportBILD regarding his move to the German club, after joining them on loan at the beginning of last month.

He is one of several big-name departures from Leeds this summer following their relegation last season, taking advantage of a clause in his contract to leave on loan ahead of a likely permanent move next summer.

His move to Frankfurt will see the defender make something of a step up in terms of level, with the German side regulars in the top ten in the Bundesliga and in Europe.

Indeed, last season saw them finishing 7th in the league and qualifying for the Europa Conference League, meaning Europe would be on the cards this season as well.

That’s key for a player who is determined to get himself back into the Germany team, but he says there is one major difference he’s noticed already since arriving from Leeds.

“Yes, that’s right,” he said when questioned if Frankfurt’s Markus Krösche had been sending him videos of his new club.

“I received a few videos about Eintracht, the fans and the atmosphere here.

“But Markus didn’t have to send me everything, I also followed a lot of Eintracht from Leeds.

“All of course (impressed me). But the video of the new ProfiCamp is special. There are top training centers in England too, but when you see the gym here it’s a notch above.”
