Last month, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Aston Villa are considering a move for AC Milan’s Charles De Ketelaere.
The forward finished his debut season at the San Siro with one assist from 40 games and his poor form hasn’t stopped him from drawing attention from other clubs like Aston Villa.
The latest claims from Spain have talked about Real Sociedad interest. Estadio Deportivo have relay that and then state the La Liga side will face ‘tough competition’ from Aston Villa, RC Lens, PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig.
De Ketelaere arrived as a ‘new golden boy’ last year but has been a ‘real disappointment’ so far.
It’s said the interest of Unai Emery’s side and PSV ‘has now arrived’ but the possibility to join either of them doesn’t please the player.
Real Sociedad have come forward to ask for information, to place an official offer. Libero say the Spanish club want to take him on loan with an option to buy while Milan could be ‘more interested in a definitive sale’.
Stefano Pioli’s side are aware of the interest he has generated and are hoping for a ‘crazy auction’. They invested €35m and want a fee to avoid making a loss and perhaps receive 15% of a future sale.
If Aston Villa are keen to sign De Ketelaere, they will have to find a way to convince him.
