Wolves full-back remains club’s ‘priority’ this summer – Deal ‘remains complex’ as they ‘accelerate’

In search of a new left-back, OGC Nice turned their attention to Rayan Ait-Nouri, who has never fully convinced Julen Lopetegui at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Once hailed as the next best thing in the position, the Algeria international has found life a bit harder than first anticipated at Molineux, with talk of an exit this summer growing.

Nothing concrete has taken place just yet, meaning the player is set to stay at Wolves for now, but that isn’t for Nice’s lack of trying, according to Foot Mercato.

Foot Mercato state that, according to their information, the ‘priority’ continues to be Aït-Nouri at Wolves, but while the player is open to the move to the south of France, any agreement for the deal ‘remains complex’.

That’s why other options are being looked at, such as Nantes’ Quentin Merlin or Juventus’ Luca Pellegrini, who has spent the past few seasons out on loan.

Therefore, Wolves can still expect some movement for their left-back, but it all depends on whether or not Nice can come up with something that convinces the Premier League side to part ways with their €11m investment.
