Manchester United have shifted their focus to signing Atalanta star Rasmus Højlund and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat after having completed a deal for André Onana.

On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport stated all parties involved in the deal for Amrabat want the transfer to go through. It was also stated the Red Devils are ready to accelerate their efforts to sign the midfielder.

Manchester United seem to have already taken the step if a report from Sportitalia is to be believed.

Journalist Michele Criscitiello told the outlet the Premier League side have ‘significantly raised the offer’ to €35m for the Morocco international.

Amrabat has 12 months left on his deal, with the Serie A side having an option to extend it for a year.

He’s ready to leave the club and after Erik ten Hag’s side made an offer, the report states Fiorentina could agree to let go of him. Therefore, Sportitlia say the player is  ‘one step away’ from Manchester United.

Criscitiello’s colleague at Sportitalia, Gianluigi Longari, took to Twitter to state Amrabat and the Old Trafford club have ‘never been so close’. This would suggest the Moroccan is getting closer to reuniting with Ten Hag at Manchester United.
