Nottingham Forest are today linked to Santos star Marcos Leonardo.
Brazilian outlet Lance reports that the Reds are currently ‘observing’ the player and study the possibility of making an offer for him.
The story, however, claims Nottingham Forest have some reservations about the signing, and that’s why they haven’t opened talks with Santos yet.
Lance claims that even though Marcos Leonardo is seen as a good option for the Reds, the ‘tactical, technical demands and game style’ are under analysis, as there are doubts he would fit in well in the Premier League.
Marcos Leonardo had been heavily linked to a move to Lazio lately, but with the Italian club going for Tony Castellanos instead, he ended up staying at Santos.
The striker has 14 goals and four assists in 29 appearances for the Brazilian club this season. Despite being just 20, he’s been carrying the club out of the relegation zone.
Lance doesn’t say how much it would take to sign Marcos Leonardo this summer, but he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €17m.
Nottingham Forest had failed talks with Santos earlier this year when trying to sign Angelo, who ended up joining Chelsea for €15m this month.
