Genk manager Wouter Vrancken has admitted they would welcome back Southampton striker Paul Onuachu, but only on a deal that suits them.
The Genk head coach has been speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws regarding last season and potential transfers this summer.
Onuachu is one name who has been linked with a move, just seven months after departing the Belgian club for Southampton.
He joined the Saints in an €18m deal at the end of the January transfer window as they looked to strengthen their forward options for the fight against relegation.
Southampton are believed to be keen to move him on as a result as they reshape their squad this summer following relegation to the Championship.
A return to Genk, where he managed 85 goals and ten assists in 134 games during a four-year spell, would make sense, but they’re only interested if he’s available on the cheap.
“That depends on him, doesn’t it?” Vrancken told HLN.
“He was sold for around €18m; I believe – I’m not aware of those numbers. The bottom line is that we don’t want to trade in that category, no.
“Bonsu Baah (€5.2m, ed.) was also a solid investment, but that’s about the limit for us. Antwerp and Club can go to double that.”
