On Thursday evening, the Brazilian media broke the news about Nottingham Forest’s offer for Botafogo midfielder Matheus Nascimento.
It was claimed by UOL that the Tricky Trees put €9m forward for the signing, and despite their ‘hurry to close the deal’, that was turned down by the Brazilian club.
Venê Casagrande now has more about the bid, and he actually brings some exciting news for Nottingham Forest.
The reporter first claims that the Reds’ bid was exactly €8.7m, letting Botafogo keep 10% of the player’s future rights.
Since the first reports hadn’t said how much Botafogo were demanding for the sale, that now makes it look like Nottingham Forest are actually very close to the request.
Meanwhile, outlet Canal do TF managed to speak to Textor about the bid. In quotes brought by Fogão Net, the club owner made it clear that in case the player wants to go, then his desire will be taken into account.
“I have a personal commitment to the player and a promise to his family to show him everything that comes along and honour his personal choices, how long he wants to stay and when or where he wants to go. I told his mother I’d take care of his career.”
