Real Betis have shown a ‘formal interest’ in West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals, with Manuel Pellegrini keen on signing the player.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say that the Betis boss has ‘encouraged’ the club to move for the West Ham man.
The newspaper explains that while waiting for a major exit operation to happen to balance the books and allow them to make more transfer moves, Betis have been working behind the scenes to set things up.
His name as an option has been ‘confirmed’ by Estadio’s own sources, who say that Betis sporting director Ramon Planes is ‘working’ on a deal for him.
He’s been ‘encouraged’ to do so by Manuel Pellegrini, who worked with the midfielder at West Ham during his time in charge at the London Stadium.
Fornals managed two goals and three assists in 20 games for the Chilean coach and it seems he would be more than happy to reunite with him in Spain.
