Leeds United are today suddenly named in the chase for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.
The news comes from the German media, where Bild report that the 26-year-old could soon be leaving the Bundesliga giants.
It’s claimed that Stuttgart and Leeds are the clubs fighting for his signing, and a decision on his future should be made in the coming days.
Bild writes that Nubel, who spent last season on loan at AS Monaco, doesn’t see himself at Bayern Munich for longer.
Now he has those two options on the table. In Stuttgart’s case, they only want him on a loan, as they have promising youngster Dennis Seimen breaking through the first team.
That’s where Leeds may find an advantage, because according to Bild, the Whites are more interested in a permanent deal. That’s an option that Bayern would rather take.
The report claims the decision should be taken before Monday, which is when Stuttgart start their training camp.
The story does not mention how much it’d take to sign Nubel from Bayern Munich. He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €8m.
