Brentford midfielder Mads Bidstrup is set to join RB Salzburg after the two sides agreed on a deal following ‘tough negotiations’.
That’s according to BT in Denmark, who report that the Austrian club are set to pay €6m for the 22-year-old, or 45 million kroner.
The Austrian side have made their move for the ‘sought-after’ midfielder, who returned to Brentford this summer following a loan spell Nordsjaelland between January 2022 and June 2023.
Bidstrup had enjoyed a ‘tremendously good season’ in the Superliga with Nordsjaelland and because of that interest in him had ‘exploded’.
FC Copenhagen had also shown ‘great interest’ in a potential deal, but Salzburg have moved ahead of the competition, and he will be moving to Austria this summer.
They’ve agreed to pay an initial €6m but BT report that the overall price could be worth much more as if Bidstrup is successful, there is a number of bonuses included that will see Brentford earn extra.
The midfielder just needs to pass a medical before the deal can be completed, which is presumably set to be done as soon as possible after the breakthrough in negotiations with the Bees.
