As AS Roma keep up with their pursuit of West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca, an update on the situation is brought by Calciomercato.
The outlet recalls that the clubs have been negotiating for a month, and the situation has been only evolving since then, especially because of the player’s desire to make the move.
Roma reportedly started their attempt by trying a paid loan. West Ham wanted to include an obligation to buy, linked to his number of appearances for the Giallorossi.
The Serie A side, however, seem to be sticking with their initial plan. Calcio Mercato says they now ‘raise the bar’ by increasing the fee for the loan.
According to the story, West Ham are thinking about it, but would rather include that buying obligation, even if it were dependent on Roma’s qualification to the Champions League.
It’s claimed there’s a feeling that the Italian club will manage to ‘satisfy’ West Ham, but for now, there’s no agreement between the clubs. All they have is a strong wish from Scamacca, who ‘only wants’ the Giallorossi.
