Arthur Melo’s agent, Federico Pastorello, would be more than happy to move to Brighton & Hove Albion this summer despite his miserable loan spell at Liverpool last season.
That’s according to TMW, who carry comments from the Italian agent as he tries to find a new club for the Juventus man in the coming weeks amid reported interest from Brighton.
Arthur spent last season on loan at Anfield but failed to make any sort of impact at the club as a series of injuries meant he managed just one 13-minute appearance.
He’s returned to Italy but isn’t a part of Juventus’ plans and they would happily move him on this summer if they can to help raise funds and bring their wage bill down.
Reports in Brazil have linked Brighton with a potential move for him, with Roberto de Zerbi’s side needing to rebuild their midfield in this window with Alexis MacAllister moving to Liverpool and Moises Caicedo seemingly on his way out also.
That report claimed Brighton had been in touch but were yet to get serious about a deal and now Pastorello has confirmed talks are underway, although he didn’t name the Seagulls specifically.
“We are working for the return to the Premier League, he would gladly return but unfortunately it is still early days,” he said when asked about the midfielder’s future.
