Ajax defender Jurriën Timber ‘could not resist’ Arsenal’s ‘flirtation’ this summer and a deal to sign him is now close to being completed.
That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, who say the two sides have ‘closed a deal’ totaling around €45m for the defender.
The newspaper covers potential outgoings at Ajax this summer and the main three contenders at this moment in time; of which Timber is one.
However, Arsenal have ruined those plans by luring Timber to the Emirates with an offer that he simply ‘could not resist’.
The Ajax vice-captain has very much had his head turned by what Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are offering and, as a result, the Dutch giants have been forced into a sale they would have preferred to avoid.
They’re now in the final stages of that transfer business and have ‘closed a deal’ totaling around €45m, another major profit but a blow to their plans under Mislintat.
