Leander Dendoncker arrived at Aston Villa last summer, when Steven Gerrard was in charge at Villa Park.
The Villans sacked Gerrard last October and appointed Unai Emery as his successor. The latter’s arrival hasn’t helped the 28-year-old, who has been restricted to 12 appearances in all competitions in this calendar year.
His future seems to be away from Aston Villa as Het Laatste Nieuws state the English club will allow Dendoncker to leave in the summer window.
It’s claimed the ‘door is now officially open’ for the Belgium international to exit Villa Park. The report even adds the ex-Arsenal manager has ‘given his blessing’ for the permanent transfer of the versatile player.
Dendoncker can be used as a midfielder and also in the heart of the back four. Emery will have options in these two positions with the signing of his compatriot Youri Tielemans on a free transfer and the impending arrival of Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
Therefore, the former Wolves man now has to find a new club in this window.
