Manchester United are expected to present an offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana ‘in the next few hours’.

That’s according to La Repubblica, relayed by FC Inter News, who say that Manchester United also have a ‘draft agreement’ in place for the player’s potential contract at Old Trafford.

United have been expected to target a new goalkeeper this summer despite David de Gea winning the golden glove in the Premier League this season.

The belief is that Erik ten Hag needs a goalkeeper who is not only better with the ball at his feet but also better suited to his style of play and Onana, who worked under the Dutch coach at Ajax, fits the bill.

He’s been linked with clubs all over Europe after impressing for Inter this season, particularly in the Champions League, where he was one of their stars in their run to the final of the competition.

Manchester United have been linked with him as a result and reports over the last week have seen them edging closer to a proposal.

La Repubblica now say that they will present their first bid for the goalkeeper ‘in the next few hours’, with Inter looking for at least €60m.

The newspaper’s belief is that United will get close to that figure by inserting a ‘series of bonuses’ into their proposal that will take the initial fee they offer higher.

The Red Devils also already have a ‘draft agreement’ of Onana’s contract in place after his agent worked on a deal with them.

Now it is simply a case of working out an agreement with Inter, who certainly need the money but are unlikely to let a key player leave on the cheap.
