Chelsea are studying a formula to sign Diogo Costa from Porto this summer, according to claims from Portugal.
It’s newspaper A Bola who bring that information, claiming the Blues don’t want to pay the €75m clause outright.
The outlet claims that even though Chelsea recently got in touch with the agent of Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana, they never forgot about Costa.
It’s said they consider the Portuguese one of the top goalkeepers in Europe, and now try to satisfy Porto with a bid.
Porto, however, would obviously rather receive it all at once. They had a similar situation when Paris Saint Germain tried to sign Vitinha and were intransigent at the time.
A Bola say Chelsea are still waiting for the potential departure of Edouard Mendy to make such an investment. It’s said they want to ‘raise the fight’ for the goalkeeping position, and Costa is seen as a ‘good solution’.
