Chelsea have sent a ‘loud and clear’ message to Romelu Lukaku about his future, telling him to secure a €40m exit and depart this summer.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Blues have made it clear to his representative Sebastien Ledure that they won’t sanction another loan deal.
The newspaper reports that Inter Milan do want the striker back at the club but know that it won’t be possible to get him on loan for another season.
They’ve made it clear that whoever wants the player ‘must take him outright’ and in a deal worth €40m, which is still a substantial loss given he is still valued at €68m on the club’s books.
That’s made a move to Inter complicated as they don’t have that sort of money but those in charge of the Italian club will still make a move.
Lukaku is waiting for that to happen and for them to send a ‘concrete signal’ that they want him with a definitive move and not just loan proposals.
In short, he would like them to show the same sort of willingness to keep him like they did last season and if that doesn’t happen, he will consider his other options. For now, he would like to remain in Europe but not the Premier League, which he is done with.
For that to happen he needs to find a proposal that suits Chelsea, who appear to have grown tired of the ongoing saga and made their stance clear to the striker.
