New Sevilla director of football Victor Orta is eyeing a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva as he tries to sign two new forwards this summer.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who explain that the Spanish side are planning an overhaul of their forward line in the coming weeks.

They need to balance the books and reduce the wage bill so players such as Youssef En-Nesyri and Rafa Mir will have to leave and then be replaced.

Orta already has two names on his list to do so, Rodrigo Moreno at former club Leeds United and Fabio Silva at Wolves.

The latter was already a target for Orta’s predecessor Monchi in the January transfer window, when he returned to Wolves from Anderlecht before then joining PSV Eindhoven.

He’s not remaining with the Dutch side as they’re targeting permanent transfers and not loans moving forwards, so have elected not to try and keep him.

Whether he has a place at Wolves under Julen Lopetegui isn’t known but it seems Sevilla plan to test that, although whether that will be with a loan bid or a permanent one isn’t mentioned.

It would presumably be the former give Sevilla’s finances, but it isn’t stated clearly as yet so that’s very much guesswork on our part.

Either way, the interest is there and Silva will be a name to keep an eye on as Orta gets underway shaping the squad he inherited.
