On the verge of selling Bart Verbruggen to Brighton, Anderlecht are now looking at goalkeepers and might have found one at Arsenal.
The man in question is, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson, who spent last season on loan at Alanyaspor in Turkey.
Bought from Dijon in France back in 2020 for €2m, the Iceland international ended up making six appearances for the Arsenal but has spent the last two campaigns out on loan.
The first was with OH Leuven in Belgium before the current stay at Alanyaspor, meaning a move to Anderlecht would be an easy one to adapt to.
Tavolieri explains the Jupiler Pro League side were ‘offered’ the Arsenal goalkeeper, and are said to ‘appreciate his profile’.
Rúnarsson is now seen as one of the options for Anderlecht alongside Maxime Dupé, with Arsenal ‘open to a sale’, wanting around €1m to let him go.
