Marseille are considering a move for Leeds United defender Junior Firpo as they look for a new left-back this summer.
That’s according to La Gazette du Fennec, who say the defender is a ‘target’ for the French club after Leeds were relegated to the Championship.
They explain that Marseille are pushing ahead with their efforts to sign a left-back after deciding not to Nuno Tavares from Arsenal after a loan spell at the club this season.
At the moment they are yet to make a serious move for him, and it would need the approval of new manager Marcelino, who has yet to be appointed, but who will help shape the squad to suit his own needs.
Thus, any approach to Leeds to sign the defender will be dependent on his approval first, but the interest is there and Firpo is the number one target at this point.
