Manchester United are ‘intensively considering’ a move for Leeds United defender Robin Koch as he will be available on a free following their relegation to the Championship.
That’s according to Kicker, who say Manchester United are serious competition for the likes of Bayer Leverkusen for the Leeds man.
They explain that Leverkusen are looking to sign a centre-back this summer as a replacement for Jonathan Tah and have ‘thrown their hat into the ring’ for the German centre-back.
He’s available on a free after Leeds were relegated last season and his agents have been touting him around ever since, with numerous reports linking him to various clubs around Europe.
Kicker back that up, stating that Manchester United are also in the mix and ‘intensively considering’ the defender ahead of a potential move.
Like Leverkusen they value his versatility, with Koch comfortable in a three-man defence, a four-man defence or as a number six. He is also accustomed to playing a high line after spells under Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch.
Combine that with his ‘tackling prowess’ and he is seen as a package that ‘seems attractive’ to the likes of Leverkusen, who, like Manchester United, are ready to take advantage of his situation at Leeds.
