Reports this week revealed that Leeds United striker Rodrigo Moreno may be on his way back to Spain, as Sevilla are working to get him signed this summer.
The La Liga side have Victor Orta as their new sporting director, and he apparently made sure to go after a player he knows well.
Now despite stories saying how likely that transfer is, outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla now shows up to say that things aren’t as done as they may look.
The website acknowledges that there are ‘open negotiations’ to bring Rodrigo from Leeds, but the Spanish club now work to convince him with the personal terms.
It’s said Sevilla offer Rodrigo a two-year contract, while the player asks for three. The club also try to get an agreement about his salary, because the striker makes €3.5m per season at Leeds United, and would need to lower that to fit at his new club.
According to the report, the La Liga side now hope Orta will be ‘a point in favour’ to get the signing done.
