Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita ‘would welcome returning’ to Valencia in this window, according to AS.

The 36-year-old came up through the ranks of the La Liga side’s youth system and spent six years with their first team before moving to Getafe in 2014.

Los Ches have identified the Crystal Palace stopper as one of their candidates to replace Giorgi Mamardashvili.

AS state it’s necessary for Valencia to sell the Georgian to improve their finances. Therefore, they are looking at a new goalkeeper in the market and this is where Guaita would fit in.

It’s stated Valencia have contacted his agent to ask about his situation at Palace and if he’s open to returning to his former club. The report makes it clear Los Ches haven’t yet presented an offer but are aware his exit ‘would not be traumatic’ for the Premier League side.

Guaita was the first-choice stopper at Palace until Roy Hodgson replaced Patrick Vieira in March. The Eagles are yet to appoint a manager for next season.

The new Palace coach is unlikely to have an impact as the newspaper states the player he would be open to returning to Valencia.
