Southampton defender Lyanco is back to getting linked to a move to Brazil.

It’s journalist Jorge Nicola who, on YouTube, explains the situation of the 26-year-old, who could be heading back to his home country this summer.

According to the story, Lyanco was ‘suggested’ to both Flamengo and Vasco da Gama. With Southampton’s relegation, he’s one of those who should leave St Mary’s.

It’s claimed that Flamengo are still to make a decision whether to try a deal, and Vasco already made a move for it.

Nicola claims the Cruzmaltino got in touch with Southampton to start talks. Their idea is to sign Lyanco on a loan with an obligatory option in case certain conditions are met.

All the talks are said to be in very early stages for now.

Even though Lyanco was spotted at a Corinthians game last week, Nicola claims there are no negotiations with that club.

Vasco’s interest was also reported by other major Brazilian outlets, such as UOL and Globo Esporte. The defender’s contract with Southampton runs until 2025, and he’s valued by Transfermarkt at €4m.
