It appears that Manchester United really do have some competition in their attempts to sign Kim Min-jae.

The Red Devils have been after the South Korea international for quite some time now, with many in Italy believing the transfer was all but done and dusted.

However, according to multiple reports, with the latest coming from Gazzetta dello Sport, Bayern Munich are trying to ruin everything.

The Italian newspaper explain the German giants have moved ‘by raising the wages proposal’ for the centre-back, ‘overtaking’ Manchester United in the process.

That’s why Kim could end up heading to the Bundesliga rather than the Premier League, and his destination is ‘not yet certain’.

While a Manchester United transfer ‘seemed like a done deal for some time’, Bayern Munichh have ‘entered the operation heavily’ in the last few hours, and they even ‘appear to be favourites’.

That being said, a new improved contract from Old Trafford ‘cannot always be ruled out’, which will be something the player’s agents will be delighted about.

As everyone knows, clubs are simply waiting for July 1st before triggering the clause in the Napoli star’s contract, which is valid until the 15th.
