Leeds United forward Rodrigo has admitted he doesn’t “know anything” about a possible move to Real Madrid amid claims the Spanish giants are interested in him.
The Spaniard has been speaking to La Razon in his homeland ahead of the international break, where he is part of Spain’s squad.
The forward joins up with his nation after a difficult campaign with Leeds, who were relegated back to the Championship in a turbulent season that saw four different managers and huge changes at Elland Road.
That did not stop him impressing, though, bagging 15 goals and two assists in 35 games despite his side’s struggles.
It is that which has led to his call up for Spain and speculation about a possible departure, with Real Madrid recently brought into the mix.
It seems he’s yet to hear about that, or hear from Madrid, but his future is certainly a subject that will be discussed in the coming weeks.
“I don’t know anything right now, the only thing I know is that on July 3rd I have to return to pre-season with Leeds,” he said.
“I imagine that now that I’m with the national team they might leave me until the 7th, although I haven’t wanted to call them either.
“I’m very focused here, for me it’s a great joy to be here after the season I had, it’s an important recognition and I would really like to take advantage of this opportunity, as I have always tried to do in the national team because that’s how I feel and it’s a pride to be here among the best.
“Let’s wait and see what happens, let’s focus now here, which is what matters most to me and then rest a bit, it’s been a tough season and we will see.”
