As Aston Villa work to take Monchi out of Sevilla, the director himself seems to be making an effort to get his release from the Spanish club.
Outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla features an interesting story on this subject today, claiming the 54-year-old even has some recommendations about who should replace him there.
It’s claimed that as he sorts out his departure to Aston Villa, Monchi proposed ‘various names’.
One of them is Fernando Navarro.
The outlet claims Sevilla are still not clear about that option, as they have other alternatives on the table, including Sergio Queco Huerta, who’s the President of the Federation of Sport Directors of Spain, and was also recommended by Monchi.
Regardless of who the La Liga side will pick, it’s clear that Monchi is doing his best to leave the club on reasonable terms.
The Spanish media has been saying that Monchi’s contract with Sevilla includes a fine in case of departure, as well as the obligation to inform them about the exit three months before he does it. That’s why it’s important for him and Aston Villa to act gently so the La Liga side forget about some of those clauses.
