Earlier this month, reports from Italy said Manchester United have an interest in Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot. On June 5th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Red Devils are ‘ahead at the moment’ to sign him in the summer.
The midfielder’s contract expires on June 30th and the Serie A side are still hoping to tie him down to a new deal.
At the same time, the 28-year-old has drawn interest from Manchester United and Atlético Madrid, according to AS.
The France international can be a market opportunity for the La Liga side since they can take him for free. The newspaper says he would fit perfectly into Diego Simeone’s system, but it won’t be easy for them to secure his services.
Rabiot has several other suitors and that could make the deal ‘more expensive’ for Atlético, as well as his high salary demands. AS say Los Rojiblancos’ most powerful rivals are from the Premier League and this is when Manchester United get a mention.
Meanwhile, El Chiringuito claim Atlético could use Antoine Griezmann’s help to convince his compatriot to arrive in Madrid. Whether this would have an impact remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato state Juve have made their move by offering him a short term deal [one + one year] or a ‘very short deal’ for just a season with ‘maximum salary conditions’. His response is now awaited.
It’s said Rabiot is ‘thinking about it’ despite Manchester United and other clubs ‘increasing’ the pressure on his mother, Veronique, who is also his agent.
