Swansea City have joined Leicester City in the race to appoint Carl Hoefkens as their new manager.
The 44-year-old hasn’t returned to the bench since he left Club Brugge towards the end of last year. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri had earlier reported the Foxes’ interest in him.
Tavolieri now took to Twitter again to state Leicester will have to ‘face competition’ from Swansea to hire the Belgian.
He states Hoefkens has been ‘approached concretely’ by both Leicester and the Welsh club and the manager will ‘soon’ have to make a decision on his future.
Russell Martin is currently in charge at Swansea and recent reports in the UK have stated Southampton are keen on appointing him as their new manager. His exit would force the Swans to look for a new manager and this is where Hoefkens would be an option.
Earlier in April, Leicester appointed Dean Smith as their manager until the end of last season. The Foxes are reportedly looking for a new coach after their relegation from the Premier League.
