AC Milan are ‘ready’ to try to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea, according to claims from Italy.
Calcio Mercato writes that with the Rossoneri failing to sign Youri Tielemans, they’ll be going after a new target right away.
It’s recalled that Milan had already tried to sign Chukwuemeka last year, and lost the race to Chelsea, who landed him in a €24m deal with Aston Villa.
Now the Rossoneri have ‘returned to office’ for the player with a ‘good chance of success’, it’s claimed. The formula is said to be a loan with an option to buy.
Chukwuemeka only made 15 appearances for Chelsea last season, with few minutes on the pitch, and it’s said he’s now looking to have more regular playing time.
Calcio Mercato says the operation at Milan should start ‘at the beginning of next week’, with Giorgio Furlani heading the mission to give Stefano Pioli the new signing.
For now, there’s no information on how much the Rossoneri want to pay in case the buying option is triggered.
Chukwuemeka is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €15m, and his contract with Chelsea runs until 2028.
