Real Betis are ‘negotiating’ with Leeds United over a deal to sign midfielder Marc Roca from Elland Road this summer.
That’s according to AS, who say Roca ‘would be willing’ to return to La Liga this summer after just a year in England.
Roca joined Leeds from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window last year and established himself as a key player throughout the campaign.
He ‘starred and shone’ for the Whites despite their eventual relegation from the Premier League and that has attracted the interest of Betis.
They’ve opened contact with Leeds about a potential deal and Roca is willing to make the move to ‘regain his best level’ in Heliópolis.
The big difficulty is the finances of the move. Betis don’t have significant funds to spend and are instead trying to convince Leeds with a proposal for a season-long loan deal that would include an option to buy at the end of it.
Whether Leeds will accept that remains to be seen although it seems unlikely given the prominent role that Roca played this season and the fact, he cost €12m last summer.
