After what ended up being a rather failed experiment with his loan at Chelsea, João Félix was told that he wouldn’t be in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans going forward.

This means he will return to Atlético Madrid, who don’t want him, and we now have Tottenham and Aston Villa thrown into the mix, courtesy of Onda Cero.

The radio station published an article accompanied with a video stating that Jorge Mendes is working to try and place his client in the Premier League.

Tottenham and Aston Villa are two clubs that ‘could be interested’, but the issue with them is Félix ‘only wants teams qualified in the Champions League’.

Since Spurs fell out of that race after the departure of Antonio Conte and Unai Emery, despite his best efforts, was unable to fully close the gap with the top four, neither will be featuring in the competition next season.

In fact, Tottenham won’t even be in Europe, meaning that they seemingly stand even less chance than Aston Villa.

Therefore, Félix will now have to wait and see what comes his way over the next month or so, but the idea from both the player and Atlético Madrid is to part ways, hopefully permanently, or, in case the preferred option can’t happen, at the very least on loan once again.
