AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi is ‘one step away’ from Manchester United, according to Wednesday evening claims from France.
L’Equipe today writes that even though the Red Devils are still to reach an agreement for the signing, they’re ‘clearly’ his destination this summer.
Manchester United are said to have been in contact about the defender’s transfer since the January transfer window, and after always being ‘one step ahead of the competition’, they ‘continued to advance their pawns in recent weeks’.
L’Equipe makes it very clear that there’s no deal between the clubs for now. However, Monaco are willing to sell, and expect to make between €40m and €50m with the move.
What seems to be placing Disasi close to Manchester United is this ‘choice’ he reportedly made. It’s claimed that he’s ‘very tempted’ to moving to the Premier League, and the place he’s going to is ‘almost known’.
Manchester United have been linked to a handful of centre-backs this summer, especially Napoli’s Kim Min-jae, and that could turn out to be a surprising outcome, as Disasi didn’t sound like one of their top targets.
The Frenchman is valued by Transfermarkt at €25m, and has a contract with Monaco until 2025.
