Burnley’s American owners have ‘sent a new offer’ to Vincent Tan to buy KV Kortrijk from the Malaysian businessman.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says those in charge at Turf Moor have not given up their efforts to buy the Belgian club as yet.
Several reports over the last few months have indicated that Burnley’s owners, as well as those in charge at Bournemouth, had been eyeing a takeover at Kortrijk and adding them to their portfolios.
It appeared that both had pulled out, though, as Tan, the current owner of the club, had suddenly increased his asking price despite initial negotiations.
He was believed to be asking for as much as €15m for the club, a figure that Burnley’s owners had considered too expensive. Indeed, reports indicated that they had decided to add the funds to Vincent Kompany’s transfer chest instead.
That new offer is ‘in excess’ of €15m in the hope that it will convince the current Kortrijk owner into finally selling up and departing.
