Following a rather mixed season with Tottenham, Pape Matar Sarr could end up getting more chances next season.
However, if Marseille have it their way, it will be with them rather than in London, as Foot Mercato in France claim the Ligue 1 side are keen on signing the midfielder.
The French club are planning for next season already as they will finish third in the league regardless of the outcome of the final game of the season, and the Tottenham man is on their list.
They will need a new midfielder to replace the very likely to be sold Mattéo Guendouzi, and the idea of bringing in Sarr has ‘grown’ in the south of France, as they have now ‘set their sights’ on the 20-year-old.
That’s because the Senegalese’s profile is one that is ‘enormously liked’ by Pablo Longoria, but he could face some issues.
This is due to the fact that other English sides are also keen, and Sarr has not made a return to Ligue 1 a ‘priority’.
Marseille, who are eyeing up a loan for the Tottenham man, will therefore need to find the right ‘arguments’ to convince him.
