Following reports saying Arsenal are interested in Vitória Guimarães star Ibrahima Bamba, we get to see an interesting response to that rumour in the Portuguese media today.
Newspaper O Jogo features a story reacting to the news and writing that the defender’s club are actually ‘receptive to negotiating’ him this summer.
A potential move to Arsenal or other Premier League club is seen as a great chance for Vitória Guimarães to make some cash, especially with the rumours talking about summer offers worth between €10m and €12m.
O Jogo just highlights that the Portuguese club will only be interested in negotiating him when the numbers match the ‘value of the player’.
Bamba is protected with a contract until 2025, and a release clause worth €30m. The newspaper doesn’t make it clear how much Vitória would demand for the sale.
On Transfermarkt, the defender is currently valued at €5m, although the interest from Premier League sides should certainly put that price up.
Besides Arsenal, Aston Villa are also reportedly interested in the 21-year-old, and that could make this battle quite interesting.
