Last week, rumours in the Brazilian media said Arsenal are signing Corinthians youngster Pedrinho.
Band host Neto claimed the 17-year-old should join the Gunners soon. Because of his age, the transfer wouldn’t happen in the summer window.
Well, journalist Jorge Nicola now went after that story, and on Youtube, brings some interesting information about Arsenal’s pursuit.
The reporter spoke both to Corinthians and Elenko Sports, which is the agency that represents Pedrinho. And their responses were very similar.
According to Nicola, club and agency backed up Arsenal interest, saying there have been approaches from the Gunners, but claiming there are no concrete negotiations so far.
Pedrinho only has five appearances for Corinthians’ first team so far, and it’s clear that Arsenal became interested when seeing him playing for the youth ranks, probably with the national team.
The winger is having a curious situation because he was blocked by his club from taking part in the U-20 World Cup. And it turns out he wasn’t used in any of their four league games, so the media don’t understand why they didn’t let him go.
