The leaders of INEOS, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s company, which is bidding to buy Manchester United, have ‘worries’ about the bid for the Premier League side.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who cover the potential takeover today and the problems that is causing for INEOS’ other club, Nice.
They explain that with Nice’s season now over, it is being looked at as one with ‘more lows than highs’ at this moment in time and the prospect of that improving for next season is low at this moment in time.
That’s because of the proposed takeover at Manchester United, ‘which worries the leaders of INEOS’ according to RMC’s information.
That is seen as a ‘disruptive element’ for the French club at this moment in time, with INEOS ‘more concerned’ with that takeover effort than preparing Nice for next season.
Nice are concerned that there is no collective effort to plan for next season, with INEOS more focused on getting Manchester United than planning for the clubs that they already run.
Those in charge at Nice have to follow the club’s organisation chart to ratify decisions but those at the top of that chart, Jean-Pierre Rivère (president), Dave Brailsford (sports director of INEOS) and Jim Ratcliffe (owner), as well as recent appointee Jean-Claude Blanc, who is the general manager of INEOS Sport, ‘have their eyes on Manchester’ more than France at this point in time.
That’s causing internal issues, as represented by Dante’s outburst, and external ones too, where ‘the public turn their backs on the club’ with only 10,000 turning up for the clash with Toulouse, less than a third of the capacity of the Allianz Riviera.
The sentiment appears to be that they are annoyed with INEOS and their pursuit of Manchester United, which has seemingly pushed Nice into the background to be forgotten about.
