On Monday, claims coming out of the English press stated Aston Villa have set their sights on Villarreal’s Dani Parejo.
This is backed up by Fichajes.net, who then provide their own information on this case. Their title states Unai Emery ‘asks’ the Villans to sign the midfielder in the summer.
The Aston Villa coach knows the 34-year-old well as he managed him when he was with the La Liga side.
Emery’s main objective is Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino but that operation is difficult to carry out. This has seen Emery look at his former player. Despite his age, Parejo’s value in the midfield has not diminished.
With a contract until 2024, the Spaniard is willing to consider an offer to make a switch to the Premier League.
Aston Villa, for their part, are ‘willing to make an offer that is irresistible’ to both Parejo and the Yellow Submarine. Emery believes his compatriot’s arrival could bolster his side’s midfield and can be a ‘guaranteed plan B’ for Merino.
Fichajes.net state Parejo has the qualities to ‘make the difference’ in the Premier League.
